OF all the new or special models of naval fighting craft designed for use in World War II, none has made such exciting history as the famous "PT" boats. Pictured herewith is a fine model of the PT-10 together with plans for building it. The appended construction hints are reprinted through the courtesy of the kit designers, the Marine Model Co., to whom we are also indebted for the drawings of the craft.
Of course you can build the boat from scratch, the cost of the parts is slight, and the satisfaction resulting from the construction of a faithful model of such a "headline news" fighter as the PT -10 torpedo patrol boat, cannot be estimated. Of course the more time you spend on the making of the parts, the finer the finished job will appear. If you should put more than one coat of paint on the hull or ether+ parts, note that each coat should be rubbed down with very fine sandpaper. Also "be sure that the paint is not too thick ... better too thin than otherwise.
If you are building the boat from your own materials, there will be some parts 'which you may care to make from metal, such as some of the deck fittings, the guns, etc. The torpedoes may be made of metal or wood, whichever you have at hand and are the most familiar with.
