The Scale Hydro being built in this article is the "Miss Reno", which was the name used after the "Maverick" was retired and sold to the Holiday Hotel in Reno, Nevada. The boat is being built for my wife, Mae, who is a great sport in R/C boating. This is a Jones-Staudacher hull, named for the designers and builders of the original Unlimited Hydro "Maverick". I would not suggest a beginner in model boating to tackle this class as it is not an easy project as most scratch builders know. If you build one of the Scale Hydros, I can guarantee it is something to be proud of, I know, I am with my "Maverick". It must be noted that the finer details of. Scale Hydro building such as instrument panel, cockpit area, mock engine and etc. are hard to find on some of the older boats.
