Are you flying more but enjoying it less? If so, put the fun back into your field activities with a "Hummingbird." Thrilling carefree flights in the large competition stunt ships seem to be hampered by the little voice inside that always reminds us of the time and money invested. The wild flights are easily accomplished by the boxey designs, but again the little voice has a comment resembling, "so what if it does fly good, it's still only an ugly box!" This voice can be annoying. We can't get rid of it, but when we landed the "Hummingbird," it seemed to say, "don't just stand there: fuel it up and let's fly again!" The craft was originally designed for the Multi-event. The appearance of the finished ship may look as though the construction is hard, but a look at the plans and construction photos will show the simplicity. ,

The round edges of the wing and tail are all cut from sheet balsa. We find the straight lines more difficult to cut than the curved. The wing is built on a fiat surface so this should simplify construction even more. If you can build a profile, you won't have any trouble with the structure.
