As this kind of vessel is unusual to our waters, I think some explaining has to be done. The actual vessel, some 204 tons gross, has a length of 105 ft. 23 ft. beam, and an alarming draft of 4 ft. 6 in. The twin screws are housed in tunnels and this is the only liberty I have taken with the model-that is along with the rudders, The ship itself has six rudders, two steering, plus four flanking, thus ensuring absolute maneuverability. The vessel when in full use has a complement of nine barges totaling a length of 630 ft., so I do not think this kind of tug is as gentle as it looks.
