This pilot boat was built in 1986 and was in service with the Swedish Maritime Administration until 2010 before being sold out of service, having been based at Marstrand in Sweden.

Pilot Boat No 726 (ex. TJB 726) was built by Dockstavarvet of Sweden, mostly of aluminium

This is drawn to scale of 1:12 The two sheet plan shows the general arrangement and hull lines, it being notable that this was a single propeller craft, unlike more recent pilot boats that are more usually twin screw propelled. The plan 1:12 scale would be 97.5cm (39 inches) long and approx. 16.6lbs (753kg). Please note that the estimated displacement (model weight) rises exponentially as the scale gets bigger and double size doesn't mean double weight as Glynn Guest has pointed out in these pages previously. On the Internet can be found numerous pictures of this pilot boat and her internal arrangements, presenting an opportunity to build a well detailed model with internal wheelhouse fittings.

This plan features a hard chine hull and as there is not a large degree of twist in the bottom panel at the bow, it should not be too difficult to plank, although it may be easier to plank from, say section 7/12 to the bow in a separate bottom piece.
