BY RICH "VON" LOPEZ

The first Li'l Matador was built by Herman Yue in December, 1974, and was photographed with its big brother in an article titled Matador in the July, 1975, issue of Flying Models. In March, 1975, 1 built four Li'l Matadors for the 1975 WAM contest season; Herman built another three. Photographs were taken of all of them together, but somewhere along the line the film got lost, and the project suffered a setback. Herman and I were the only ones campaigning Li'l Matadors in the 1975 season. Ed Bridant had one but chose to use the previous year's Li'l Snips. At the Fourth of July San Jose contest, Ed upped the 1/2 A Combat record from 70 points to 100. For the entire year, however, I had enough points to take the championship.
