Our steam engine powered Bear Mountain model could easily be mistaken for the full-size excursion steamer as it sails gently across the pond. The steam engine drives a conventional screw propeller in lieu of the side paddle wheels. The wheels are allowed to rotate freely, however, and, due to the forward motion of the model, give the illusion of propelling the craft as they rotate. Plans include drawings for paddle wheel operation
