THIS vessel was originally constructed to accommodate the E.D. "Competition Special" 2 c.c. diesel engine complete with silencer attachments. With this power unit it behaved very well if a trifle on the spectacular side for a boat of its type. Of course, if you like your model to give an authentic impression of a rum runner nipping smartly along a mile or two ahead of the customs launch, this is the type of power unit for you. However, I rebuilt it with twin propellers, and electric power, 'which resulted in a much more docile performance, not to mention a clean boat and a trouble-free running which can be enjoyed by a "skipper" of any age group
The construction is quite straightforward it had to be, as I am no shipwright, only a table top model maker with the minimum of tools.
