SLEEK, elegant, sumptuous three words which mean a lot to the keen model boat builder looking for a prototype which will stand an equal chance of laurels in either regattas or exhibitions, and three words which apply in full to the 40 ft. Royal Barge built by Vosper, Ltd., as one of the six small craft carried on the Royal Yacht Britannia. From her glittering silver stem band to her glossy royal blue transom, this launch is every inch a magnificent prototype for the discerning builder who doesn't mind how much time he lavishes on the production of a thing of beauty.

In selecting 3/4 in. to 1 ft. scale, we are providing a model large enough for fine detail work and radio installation while remaining small enough to allow easy transportation and the use of many of the popular size electric motors. Resplendent in a scale colour scheme of royal blue hull with gold cove lines, maroon cabins, polished mahogany decks, gold dolphins, silver-plated fittings and window frames, and dark blue upholstery, the model cannot be ignored for its decorative value alone.

Construction is straightforward, the underwater hull form having been slightly simplified to allow all-ply skinning, etc., but we would recommend novices to gain a little experience with another, less detailed, model, before undertaking this one.
