   This type of motor yacht has long had an appeal to those who preferred a robust, seaworthy and roomy craft, where

weight and speed was not the primary concern. This search has inevitably led to the appreciation of those characteristics inherent in fishing boats, where certainly formerly, their simple lines and strong construction have an immediate impact.

   To marry the above with the more sedate requirements of the yachtsman is a trick that some naval architects achieved with notable success, among these was the well known yacht designer J. Francis Jones, who developed the Inchcape class of motor yachts in collaboration with James Evans, owner of the former Eyemouth Boatbuilding Company.
