The Clansman offers a lot as a working model and if your interest in the hobby leans more toward the R/C side she can be built with as many as seven working functions, but can be also controlled easily on a two-channel set.
As a prototype for a scale model, Clansman fulfils many essential requirements desired by a large section of model boat builders, i.e., twin screws mounted in Kort nozzles, bow and stern thrusters, large crane to handle submersible through the moonpool, four fire monitors on an elevated gantry, four mooring winches, etc. Obviously the builder who enthuses over working ancillaries will find much of interest. Despite an enormous amount of detail, prospective builders should not be repelled as the basic deck houses are mainly slab sided and lend themselves to the use of plastic card construction,
