Construction of the actual model shown is straightforward and not especially difficult, though a small amount of workshop equipment is called for; most of the work can be done with hand tools so that even if you have to have the turned parts made, they represent only a very small part of the completed vehicle.
We might also point out that non-working scale fans could build this car on the same lines as Genevieve described last year, or an electrically-powered version for free running employing less robust materials, is entirely feasible. Wooden wheel rims, chassis. etc., would be quite suitable, and the battery could be fitted into the seat box without any difficulty. The following notes, however, deal with building the diesel-powered model.
