Although the design is only semi-scale, it is typical of current outboard hydroplane practice and would probably prove quite successful if scaled to full-size. Scale is 1 in to 1ft., approximately, but since there are no details there is little need to worry about maintaining a constant scale, except, of course, for the driver. The entire model costs only pence, and in fact can be built from a selected bundle of balsa offcuts.
