OPEN semis scale or scale speedboats seem to be comparative rarities on our ponds, possibly due to the lack of opportunity given to their builders for much detailed work. Having reached the stage where cabin cruisers looked all alike to me and finding the available speedboat kits too small for my boating area, I decided to design my own. This, coupled with the intention of fitting radio, decided the name for me before the plans got under way At the expense of a little extra structural weight, this design is immensely strong and with some five years service has yet to spring a leak.
