Model builders and aircraft buffs alike will find the Boulton Paul "Defiant" an interesting subject of discussion. The five or so years preceding WW 2 was a time of great pressure for the British aircraft industry. All of the ideas and principals learned in WW 1 were being used to conceive a new family of fighters. Just as it is done in our country, competing teams of engineers were feverishly de­veloping ideas and hardware necessary to produce the aircraft each group felt held the answer to Britain's security.
