I completed three Challengers just before the Nationals where I again won Junior going on to place 4th overall in the Senior event. The result of my efforts to design a ½ A Combat model culminated It years ago with the Challenger. Since building the first one no major design changes have been necessary. Challenger is stronger than the current trend but I believe this is a definite advantage, since only one model is permitted per bout, and this model will survive midairs and crashes better than most. The building time is fast and very simple and also quite cheap, especially if you have got a Dad like I have, whose materials you can pinch, while he is busy with his projects. In the hands of an experienced flyer the Challenger is a contest winner, but it is nevertheless also an ideal beginner's model being predictable and without vice and a real toughie. So let's build one and join in the fun of ½ A Combat flying.
